The Birth of “Emotional Revolution”: Why I Started a Podcast (and How You Can, Too)

Nov 11, 2024

I never thought I’d be a podcaster. Seriously, it wasn’t even on my radar. I was busy coaching clients, running my business, and homeschooling four kids. The last thing I thought I’d be doing was setting up a mic, clicking “record,” and hoping my words landed with someone on the other side. But one thing I’ve learned on this journey is that clarity often shows up unexpectedly, and when it does, you just have to roll with it.

The idea of a podcast came to me in one of those “Why not?” moments. I realized that my story—and the emotional transformation I’d experienced—was meant to be shared with more people, not fewer. I knew this work couldn’t be confined to just one-on-one coaching sessions. It had to go further, and a podcast felt like the perfect next step to make emotional healing more accessible to everyone.

And let’s be honest: I’ve always believed that most people don’t care what I’m doing anyway. And if someone does care a little too much, that’s probably more about them than it is about me. My philosophy has always been to let people handle their own projections while I focus on what feels aligned and true for me. So, I decided to grab a mic and go for it.

Why “Emotional Revolution”?

I’ve seen the impact of unhealed emotions not just in personal growth, but in business as well. The truth is, you can have all the strategies and blueprints in the world, but if you’re carrying old stories, unresolved emotions, and limiting beliefs, they’ll show up in how you do business—guaranteed.

It’s like this: you want to be seen, but deep down you’re afraid of being judged, so you play small. You want to make a bold move, but there’s an old story telling you that it’s not safe to take risks, so you don’t. Your emotions drive your actions, whether you’re aware of it or not, and that’s why an emotional revolution is so crucial.

An emotional revolution is about challenging everything we’ve been taught about “keeping it together” and instead learning how to truly feel it all, process it all, and heal from it all. It’s not about being happy all the time or getting rid of “negative” emotions. It’s about creating a space for all emotions to be felt, understood, and integrated—because that’s where real transformation happens.

I started this podcast to create a space where these conversations could happen freely. I want you to know that the emotional blocks you face in business are the same ones you face in life—they’re just dressed up a little differently. And until we address them, they’ll keep popping up in new (and not-so-fun) ways.

What You’ll Hear on the Podcast

Each episode of Emotional Revolution dives into the nitty-gritty of emotional healing, business growth, and personal transformation. I’m not here to give you surface-level advice or quick fixes. Instead, you’ll find:

  • Deep dives into emotional triggers using my Trigger Response Method (TRM)—breaking down how these triggers show up, why they exist, and how to shift them into something more productive.
  • Real talk about self-sabotage, imposter syndrome, and the stories that keep us from stepping into our full potential, both in business and life.
  • Actionable tools for emotional healing, from radical responsibility to somatic practices, all designed to help you create lasting change.
  • Candid stories from my own journey, sharing what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how I’ve learned to navigate the ups and downs of emotional growth.

I want you to feel like you’re sitting across from me, having a real, no-BS conversation about what it takes to create an emotional revolution in your own life. This isn’t just about listening and nodding along; it’s about feeling inspired to take real action and break the patterns that have been holding you back.

The “Why” Behind the Mic: What Inspired Me to Start This Journey

Let me be clear: starting this podcast wasn’t a big, intimidating leap for me. In fact, it felt like the next logical step. I had such clarity about the need for this work to be more accessible, and I thought, Why not give it a shot? I’m a big believer that nobody really cares what I’m doing anyway. And if they do, well, that’s more about their own need for reflection than about anything I need to change.

I’ve always been passionate about helping people understand that they’re not alone in their struggles. Too often, we isolate ourselves in our emotional messes, convinced that no one else could possibly be dealing with the same level of chaos. But the truth is, we’re all navigating similar storms; they just have different names and faces.

I started Emotional Revolution to create a platform where we can have real, meaningful conversations about the emotional journey. I wanted to share my own experiences, tools, and techniques with anyone who’s ready to dive deep into their emotional world. This podcast isn’t about achieving success or getting a certain number of downloads; it’s about creating a ripple effect—one that encourages people to take a closer look at their emotions, challenge their limiting beliefs, and create true transformation.

How Emotional Healing Impacted My Business Growth

The deeper I went into my own emotional healing, the more my business started to thrive. And it wasn’t just about feeling more confident (though that definitely helped)—it was about making aligned decisions that were rooted in clarity rather than fear.

When I started addressing the emotional triggers that were causing me to hold back, I noticed huge shifts in how I showed up in my business:

  • I stopped procrastinating out of fear of judgment and started taking bold, aligned action.
  • I stopped waiting for things to be perfect and started sharing my work with the world, flaws and all.
  • I let go of old stories about not being “good enough” and started to see myself as a leader who has valuable insights to share.

And here’s the thing: this isn’t just true for me. I’ve seen it happen over and over again with my clients. When they commit to their own emotional revolution, their personal growth is reflected in their business growth.

I want to share this message with as many people as possible because I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to sabotage yourself, and to think you’re not capable of success. But I also know what it’s like to break through those barriers, and that’s what this podcast is all about.

The Setup: How I Made It Happen

If you’re curious about the logistics (or maybe considering starting your own podcast), here’s what I use to make Emotional Revolution a reality:

  • Mic: The FIFINE XLR Dynamic Microphone, is my go-to for crisp sound quality. It’s easy to use and delivers a professional sound, even for a newbie.
  • Mic Arm: I use the FIFINE Mic Boom Arm, to keep the mic steady and accessible. It’s flexible and helps keep my recording setup tidy.
  • Camera: I use the Nexi Go for the video element of the podcast, ensuring high-quality visuals.
  • Recording Platform: I record on Riverside, which offers top-notch video and audio quality, allowing me to capture clear, professional sound—even during remote interviews. It’s user-friendly, reliable, and makes it easy to produce high-quality episodes from anywhere. If you’re looking to start your own podcast, I highly recommend Riverside for its seamless recording experience.

If you’ve ever thought about starting a podcast, my advice is simple: Just start. You don’t have to have everything perfectly planned out, and you don’t need a big audience to make an impact. All you need is a voice, a message, and the courage to share it with the world. Trust me, there’s someone out there who needs to hear what you have to say.

What an Emotional Revolution Means for You

The heart of Emotional Revolution is more than just a podcast—it’s a call to embrace the full range of our emotions, to understand them, and to use them as tools for growth. It’s about learning to listen to the messages that our emotions carry, rather than pushing them away.

When we do this, everything starts to shift. Our relationships improve, our businesses grow, and our sense of self becomes stronger and more aligned. I’ve seen it happen in my own life, and I know it can happen for you, too.

The podcast is here to support you on this journey, whether you’re just starting out or have been working on your emotional healing for years. I want you to know that the work you’re doing matters, and that your own revolution has the power to change everything.

The Revolution Starts With You

Launching Emotional Revolution wasn’t about finding another way to build my brand—it was about creating a space for real change. I wanted to make emotional healing accessible, relatable, and something you can listen to while folding laundry or driving to work.

If you’re feeling called to start your own podcast, embrace your emotional journey, or simply share your story with the world, I’m here to tell you: Do it. Your voice matters, and your story has the power to inspire someone else’s healing.

The revolution starts with you, with your willingness to be raw, real, and brave enough to heal.

With love and growth,
Kayla
